Welcome to the Rays Swim Team 2019/20 Season!

We are looking forward to a great season.

This year we are excited to have 4 coaches. Our head coach Gerald Principe, 8 and under coach Kindra Scheer and 9 and over coach Jacob Faretra and please help us welcome our newest coach Becky Trefethen. Many of you may know Becky as she has been with Ripples since day one. She is a RWU Architecture student and lifeguard at the RWU pool.

Uniforms:

The only required items right now are a Team Suit, goggles and Cap. Additional gear may be required as the season progresses ie. fins or the such. Swimmers may wear any suit and cap they choose to practice.

We have chosen to set up a Team store. The link to the store is www.swimoutlet.com/raysswimteam.

You can purchase your team suits, bags, t-shirts, sweatshirts and many other items with the Rays logo on them if you choose. Team suit is new and the color option is Blue- as shown in the thumbnail picture when you open the webpage. Team Caps are on order and will be $12. When they come in we will have the coaches bring them to practice to distribute and your Ripples account will be charged $12. Fins are suggested and will be required at some point in the season. A few different price point options are listed on the team store site- any are fine.

Communication:

We have chosen to do most of our communication via the Team App. We are able to store so much information here and feel it enhances communication. If you can please download the app and search for Rays Swim Team. https://www.teamapp.com/app

Additionally- You can reach Ripples via phone 401-396-8765 or email swiminfo@RipplesSwim.com. Coach Gerald can also be reached via email at Gerald@RipplesSwim.com.

Practice:

As most of you know practice will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm at Roger Williams University. Please make every effort to not miss practice.

Meets and Curriculum:

This season we will be following an updated curriculum. Team members will develop techniques that improve upon speed and efficiency along with a strong mental component of setting goals both in and out of the pool.

A meet schedule will be confirmed within the next few weeks. We will update the Team App with this information as soon as we can.

Volunteering:

We have exciting opportunities for you to become involved. If you would like to become an official we will be providing training. We are also looking for timers- no training needed- for each meet.

We are so excited for this season!! Please reach out if you feel there’s information that we’ve missed that you would like to hear about.
